Monday Musing: How are you recharging to stay at your best for the second half of the year?
Can you believe we’re nearly halfway through the year? Time flies! How are you feeling energy-wise as we hit this midpoint? Vibrant and engaged, or running on empty?
As we hit the mid-year mark, it’s the perfect moment to check in with yourself and consider whether you feel like you’re operating at a sustainable level or it’s time to reset and recommit.
Here are some ideas for how to set yourself up for a more productive, fulfilling, and joyful second half of the year:
Do an energy check-in
Start by observing your daily energy patterns. When do you feel most alert and productive? When do you experience a slump? By identifying these patterns, you can align your schedule to match your energy peaks with tasks that require the most concentration and creativity.
For example, if you’re a morning person, use those early hours to tackle strategic planning, problem-solving, or creative work. Reserve lower-energy times for routine tasks that require less mental effort. This way, you’re not only managing your time efficiently but also optimising your energy for maximum impact.
Experiment with circuit breakers
Circuit breakers are your secret weapon for resetting when your energy dips or stress rises. Try a 5-minute walk, some deep breathing exercises, quick stretches, or playing your favourite music. Pay attention to what works best for you and weave these moments into your daily routine to stay fresh, focused, and productive.
Take charge of your Monday.
